Musically Speaking...

Grabbed the new System of a Down illegally and it's pretty rad. If you like that sort of thing. The new single I find irresistable for some reason. That R&B type chorus makes me chuckle.

I'm a late bloomer, but Arcade Fire's record is pretty decent too. It's called Funeral.

Did anyone else notice that Diswhalla put out a new CD? Didn't think so. What the fuck is that all about?

I haven't located this song by Motion City Soundtrack called Everything Is Alright - Commit This To Memory yet on Itunes, but I plan on getting it since I think it's really swell. I'm guessing these dudes are EMO or some shit...but I'll try not to hold it against them since this song is catchy as hell.

Everybody seems to be hating on the new Weezer and loving the new Gorillaz. I'm pretty scared to try either until I hear another song from each. Feedback welcomed. If you have an opinion....hit me up with a comment.

Not to be contrarian, but I don't give a single shit about any one of the bands you just mentioned. How unhip of me, I suppose. The only one I honestly recognized besides Weezer was System of a Down, and I know I've heard one of their songs, but it was in one ear and out the other. But then, I'm a pompous ass.

Chris you are in a comment frenzy today! Now if you would only post to your own blog. Haha

I appreciate you bringing up Weezer, even if in a negative context. Only over the last half a year or so I've realized how much I really enjoy their music. On the way home from--you guessed it--the bar tonight, lovelines started playing a clip from their new album, which I didn't realize was out. Before they told me who it was, the music interested me. So, I guess I'll have to check it out.

Well, I guess working around 20 year olds keeps me somewhat in the know on music. I absolutely would have ranked Weezer in my top 5 bands of all time after Pinkerton came out, but since then I'm not so sure. The new record is produced by Rick Rubin (intriguing) and I've heard reviews compare it to Pinkerton, so my interest is piqued.
