The Television Medical Drama
It's been quite a while since I gave a shit about a show that takes place in a hosptial. I used to be a huge ER fan back in the late 90's and for a short time l loved the quirkiness of Chicago Hope. I haven't really given any of the recent crop a fair shake to be honest, either the cast doesn't appeal to me or they seem very generic. But for some reason I felt compelled to TIVO the new ABC offering Grey's Anatomy the other night and I just got done watching it. Not bad. I like the characters, I like the pacing, I like the voice over. The show centers around a group of Surgery interns who are starting off the next 7 years of the life in this hospital. The central group is made up of 3 women and a guy name O'Malley. The girl who Luke Wilson romanced in Old School is the female lead and she's pretty solid. Sandra Oh, from Sideways, is the bitchy, go getter and the hot chick from Roswell is the ex-model turned surgeon. Anyway, I think like Boston Legal, this show has hooked me back into watching a decent TV drama. Maybe I'm slowly tiring of the reality TV world and need some "make believe" in my diet?
