Whiskey, Nikon, Camisole...and Amy.

For those of you who don't know, a recent hobby of mine has been photography. The past 2 years I have been taking shots and trying to get better on my own with no formal training. I experiment with all kinds of styles, but lately I've settled on portraits of people. I have done some work with bands and now I'm branching out to another new arena by having people model for me. One such person is my favorite non-relative in the whole world, Amy. I've know her since she was like 10 years old as she is friends with my sisters. And I've had a terrible crush on her since she was 15. Despite my desire to make her my child bride a la Jerry Lee Lewis and his cousin, I behaved myself last Friday when she sat for me. The resulting photos were a mixed bag. I totally misjudged the lighting situation and Amy was nervous the first roll and then too comfortable and unfocused by the last roll. But considering that she did it for free and I'm nowhere near being an amatuer let alone a professional, I'm satisfied with the results. If you have any interest in seeing the salvagable results, then click the title above and check out my "photo album" on Yahoo. I added some captions to make it bearable for viewing.
